Our Vision Explained
Since our incorporation in 1995, we have envisioned patients and consumers playing an active role in their healthcare, with healthcare providers relying on evidence-based instructional technology to inform their patients and verify comprehension. Our vision has been crystallizing with the continuous adoption of sound instructional solutions for patient education. Across the nation, leading healthcare institutions are abandoning the “printed patient handout and a checkmark on a form” model and adopting interactive models where patient education is an integral part of healthcare services, and where healthcare providers verify that patients have received and understood the provided health information.
The trend towards emphasizing interactivity in patient education and ensuring that patients understand and verbalize the information they are given is best exemplified by the new standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations that call for checking patient understanding through verbalization and interactivity.

"The Joint Commission requires organizations to evaluate a patient’s comprehension of education materials… The Joint Commission recommends that evaluating an individual’s patient education program be done through an interactive, ongoing process."
